Went for a winter mountaineering experience with Mollie Hughes. Due to extremely heavy snowfall on route to the mountains, we sat down as a group and looked at the conditions for the day. It was going to be difficult in the areas originally planned due to avalanche risk. As a group we decided to head Ben Ledi to work on winter skills. Had such a great day out in the mountains learning valuable winter mountaineering skills with Mollie and Stevie. We focused on planning and route choices as well as using crampons and ice axes. We looked at avalanche safety and awareness, how to self arrest using the ice axe and analysing the snow pack. What a great experience. Would highly recommend Ocean Vertical to anyone who wants to get some experience getting into the mountains over winter.K
