First Aid Courses in East Lothian

First Aid training and experience for Outdoor professionals and adventure enthusiasts.

Ocean Vertical deliver First Aid training for those entering a profession in the outdoors, as well as existing outdoor professionals required to renew qualification.

What First Aid Qualification and who for?

Ocean Vertical deliver two First Aid courses: A 3 day First Aid at Work +F (FAW+F) course, and a 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work +F (EFAW+F) course.

Our 3 Day FAW+F course is designed for:

Outdoor Professionals who work remotely and/or in high-risk environments. This includes, but is not limited to, professionals within adventure, forestry, and farming industries.

Professionals whose qualification requires a valid minimum 16hr First Aid Course.

Our 1 Day EFAW+F course is designed for:

Outdoor Activity Enthusiasts looking to increase their knowledge of remote first aid.

Perhaps frequently participating in activities such as; rock climbing, mountaineering, paddle boarding, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, trail running and more.

Outdoor Professionals looking to get a base-level First Aid renewal.

The FAW+F course sets First Aiders up with the necessary knowledge and skillset to provide a prolonged level of care to a patient before the next level of care arrives. Individuals working within these industries are usually at a higher risk of injury with a reduced amount of emergency care nearby; this course prepares professionals for these emergency situations.

The EFAW+F course provides professionals or enthusiasts, that operate in low-risk environments the fundamental skills and knowledge to provide the first level of First Aid to casualties.

The Term ‘+F’ stands for Forestry First Aid, and these courses include more focus on the outdoors. It highlights accidents and injuries that are more likely to occur in outdoor activities, and how best to care for these.

Outdoor First Aid Course Venue

First Aid courses here at Ocean Vertical take place at Our Base, a cosy renovated Victorian stable building surrounded by woodlands, just a stone’s throw from the coast.

The setting of our base enables us to include realistic, scenario-based, practice into the course which ensures First Aiders gain a more extensive understanding of how to react to situations and care for patients, and ultimately leave with a thorough level of preparation for emergency situations.

In addition to delivering courses at our base, we also have the flexibility to deliver our training at your location. This is ideal for organisations looking to qualify a group of first aiders. For our FAW+F Instructor to come to you, please get in touch.
