Expedition Itinerary

Day One: Journey to Mull and Wild Swimming on Erraid.

The journey begins in Oban, where we’ll gather before taking the early morning ferry to Mull, arriving in Craignure at 08:15. From there, we’ll drive to Fidden Farm Campsite on the Ross of Mull, our home for the trip, and set up camp in this stunning coastal location. A hearty campfire lunch will be prepared on stoves, fueling us for the adventure ahead.

In the afternoon, we’ll explore the Isle of Erraid, a tidal island known for its crystal-clear waters and rugged coastline. Equipped with wetsuits, we’ll take a wild swimming adventure, gliding through sheltered bays, scrambling over coastal rocks, and experiencing the raw beauty of Mull’s shoreline up close. As the day winds down, we’ll head to Fionnphort for a delicious dinner before returning to camp, where we’ll enjoy a dram or two under the stars.

Day Two – Ben More Climb

The morning is dedicated to conquering Ben More, Mull’s only Munro. With expert guidance, we’ll make our way to the summit, where we’ll be rewarded with breath-taking panoramic views across the island and beyond. This challenging yet exhilarating hike is a true highlight of the trip.

After returning to camp in the afternoon, the rest of the day is ours to relax and take in the surrounding wilderness. Whether it’s resting weary legs, watching the light shift over the landscape, or simply soaking in the peace of Mull, this is a chance to unwind in nature. As evening falls, we’ll gather around for a night of campfire cooking, good food, and shared stories beneath a sky full of stars.

Day Three – Iona, Staffa & Wildlife Encounters

The final day begins with a short ferry ride to the Isle of Iona, a place steeped in history. We’ll explore the iconic Iona Abbey, wander along its pristine beaches, and take in the timeless beauty of this sacred island.

Later, we set off for the Isle of Staffa, famous for its dramatic basalt columns, sea caves, and thriving wildlife. If we’re lucky and the season is right, we may even encounter puffins up close, an unforgettable sight that captures the magic of this wild and remote landscape.

As our adventure comes to a close, we’ll journey back to Craignure, keeping a lookout for Scotland’s Big Five—red deer, golden eagles, otters, seals, and red squirrels—before catching the evening ferry back to Oban, carrying with us memories of an extraordinary expedition.
